HPT’s unique infrastructure leverages the combination of Hawaii’s strategic position as a mid-point between Asia and the Americas, and low-cost high capacity submarine fiber between the US and Hawaii, to operate a leading international telecommunications facility for telephony, VOIP, videoconferencing, VPN, DVB-IP multicasting, IP connectivity and television broadcasting services.
The Hawaii Pacific Teleport is located on the south west shore of the island of Oahu, Hawaii, from where it operates incoming circuits traveling over trans-oceanic submarine fiber supplied by Southern Cross, and uplinks them to “deep reach” satellites orbiting over Asia.
