Located in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, HIR features the most progressive treatment available in an intimate and luxurious environment. With a maximum of ten clients, HIR provides individualized care for all forms of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Hawaii Island Recovery endeavors to support the recovery of the whole person- body, mind and spirit, through an integrated approach of healing modalities. Our emphasis on group and individual therapies distinguishes us from other treatment facilities. Not only will HIR clients gain the tools to abstain from their addiction, they will gain insight into the underlying issues that fueled their addictive behavior. By addressing the emotional and psychological components of addiction, our clients are better equipped to sustain long term recovery.

How long have you been in business?
We have been in business since late 2009
What is your primary product or service?
We deal with alcohol addiction, prescription drug addiction, heroin addiction and most other forms of addiction. We also provide therapy for depression, anxiety, PTSD and most psychological disorders that accompany addiction.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I'm a recovery addict and saw a need in the State of Hawaii and Dr. Hibscher specializes in addiction management.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We provide 100 hours of therapy which include wild dolphin therapy, equine therapy, one-to-one therapy, dual diagnosis therapy, holistic therapy, reiki, acupuncture, detox massage and many other forms of therapy.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have 3 locations: Mauka Hale - an executive rehab 1,000 ft. spectacular view of Kailua-Kona. Maika Hale is located on the ocean and we just opened our sober living facility.
